Operating Licence
You have restored an old vehicle without a certificate of conformity or inherited a moped from Grandpa without papers. No problem. You can easily apply for a new certificate of conformity at the Federal Motor Transport Authority.
The issuance costs 35.35 euros per vehicle, including VAT, postage, and cash on delivery fee.

Important Note:
The re-issuance of the certificate of conformity only applies to vehicles that were registered in the territory of the GDR (until 28.02.1992 in the FRG).
Reimported vehicles are excluded from this and always require an individual approval by the locally responsible road traffic authority. This is issued based on an expert opinion from an officially recognized expert.
