Product information "LT 2-Ring Piston LTP-A Ø38.71 - for Simson S51, KR51/2 Swallow, SR50"
LangTuning LTP-A Piston 38.71mm
The LTP-A pistons are completely newly designed and optimized in all aspects for Simson cylinders.
- Extremely light
- the lightest pistons for Simson on the market
- Extremely durable: the inner geometry of the piston and the alloy ensure stability
- Very wide piston skirt at the inlet: Good piston guidance even with very wide inlet channels
- With piston window: Better cooling of the piston base and additional filling of the transfer ports thanks to the window
- Clamp-free: Very precise piston geometry specially tuned to the heat expansion for air-cooled cylinders
- Rattle-free: High-quality 1 mm steel rings in precisely manufactured piston ring grooves
- LTP-A 2-ring piston for standard and sport cylinders
- LTP-A 1-ring piston for tuning and racing cylinders

LT KnowHow
Langtuning designed the LTP-A pistons from scratch. Usually, only the outer geometry such as length, diameter, etc. is transmitted to the manufacturer in the Simson market and the manufacturer produces a piston shape. These shapes usually have a high material thickness, making the piston correspondingly heavy.
Langtuning takes new paths with the construction of the LTP-A pistons.
This is of course much more complex and requires corresponding experience.
But as a result, the piston weight is on average 10% lower than usual pistons in the quality price segment and around 20% lower than cheap standard pistons.
At the same time, the pistons could be reinforced depending on the size by a corresponding strut design, so that they are not only lighter, but also more stable.
The LTP-A pistons are optimized for slot-controlled Simson cylinders. Thanks to an extra wide inlet skirt, even very wide inlet channels for tuning cylinders are possible. At the same time, the LTP-A pistons are also suitable for standard cylinders and can be used without any problems. The piston windows are positioned in such a way that there is no short circuit with the inlet or side outlets.
