The Manufacturer's Declaration for Replacement Frames is used to apply for a Crash Approval with the competent Registration Authority. With obtained Crash Approval, a transfer of the Frame Number must be carried out at the Technical Service or Technical Inspection Station for Motor Vehicle Traffic, and the Original Frame must be rendered inoperable by an officially recognized Expert (aaS) or a Regional Appraiser (RBE). The Inspection Report for the Replacement Frame is accessible by the aaS or the RBE. The aaS or the RBE makes the final decision on registration in the overall vehicle.
A presentation of the vehicle at the Technical Service or a Technical Inspection Station for Motor Vehicle Traffic is therefore generally necessary.
