Product information "EMW and AWO - The four-stroke models of the GDR - Frank Rönicke"

Author: Frank Rönicke
- In 1928, BMW took over the Eisenach engine works and also built motorcycles there.
- After the war, one of them, the R35, was continued to be built there as EMW until 1955.
- The AWO 425 was the second four-stroke motorcycle from GDR production and had been in production since 1950 in the Thuringian town of Suhl.
- Production ended in 1960. After that, the production of four-stroke motorcycles in the former GDR area was discontinued by decision of the State Council.
- In the two-stroke country GDR, the exotic four-strokes were not forgotten, as this volume proves with a lot of period color.
