Product information "AKF Start kit for tuning engine 70ccm - 85ccm, with long 5-speed gearbox and 5-disc clutch"
AKF Start Kit for Tuning Engine (70ccm to 85ccm)
- with all important components for a stable tuning engine
- Kit contains a 5-speed gearbox with long 1st and long 5th gear
- Includes 5-disc clutch
- Crankshaft with 44mm stroke and 85mm connecting rod, cheeks milled and balanced for higher piston weight
- all necessary starting and compensating washers available in various thicknesses
- Small sprocket 14 teeth
Attention:
This kit requires its own cylinder + piston + head and carburetor to be present!
The own engine housing and side covers will be reused! (Engine number remains unchanged)
Details 5-speed gearbox:
- long 1st gear, significantly improved connection to 2nd gear
- long 5th gear, 24 teeth (fixed wheel) / 32 teeth (loose wheel)
- optimized draw wedge installed
- delivered already partially assembled
Details 5-disc clutch:
- Tuning driver with retaining ring and reinforced diaphragm spring 1.6mm
- 8-fold riveted clutch basket, straight-toothed (54/17)
- Needle-bearing clutch pressure plate (ZT-Tuning)
- Clutch discs A12 with reinforced driver noses (power absorption up to 20 Nm)
- Clutch discs Tuning
- ZT Performance clutch plate
Other significant components:
- Gasket set Kautasit
- high-quality cylinder roller bearings for extreme stress (crankshaft)
- Screwed shift drum spindle
- Needle bearing for shift drum
- Optimized swivel lever
- Sealing cap CNC
- Reinforced fastening claws
Note:
The supplied crankshaft is designed for an engine capacity of 70ccm and above. Therefore, suitable cylinders + pistons should be installed, which, however, require reaming of the housing bore.
- 70ccm cylinder with 50mm liner = 50.2mm
- 70ccm cylinder with 53mm liner = 53.2mm
- 85ccm cylinder with 54mm liner = 54.2mm
- 85ccm cylinder with 54mm liner, bored & ground to 50mm piston size = 54.2mm
In any case, the free movement of the kickstarter pinion must always be checked. The 5-speed gearbox with long 1st gear requires a little more space, so that the housing must be milled out in this area.
The delivered engine kit consists largely of individual parts! Assembly should generally be carried out by an experienced Simson engine builder with suitable tools. (e.g. engine assembly stand, heat lamp, shift adjustment tool, etc.)
In the first operating hours, the engine should be moved carefully and preferably with the fuel mixture 1:33. (We expressly recommend Motul 800 2T Road Racing)
The determined performance values serve only as an example! The decisive influencing factors for this are the used cylinder, the exhaust, the drive train, the ignition system, the jetting and the used air filter.
The use of an 85ccm cylinder, which has been bored and ground to a piston size of OVER 50mm, is technically possible, but not recommended. We strongly advise against it. (Wall thickness of the liner below 2mm!)
